Plasma/Chip-On-Board (COB)

Plasma/COB technology is the latest market sensation. Released in the spring of 2013, these provide a combination of the benefits of CCFL and LED as the newest advancement in Solid-State Lighting Technology. Chip-On-Board (COB) design is where hundreds of semiconductors make direct contact with the circuit board, essentially turning the entire circuit board into a single, complete lighting unit. They are bright enough to be seen in light and dark environments and have the same smooth glow that made CCFL so popular, although they cannot be controlled by remotes and are not yet capable of changing colors or the cool programmable lighting effects that only LED Halos can do. They last the longest of all Halo Rings but are also the most expensive. Starting in early 2017, Plasma technology went under the knife; a full redesign and upgrade to this style has Oracle rolling out better and brighter Plasma halos every day, with startlingly impressive results.
